Topic: Avenue PC control

Hi this is my first post...
I do have a subject which I'm sure members will be able to advise me on.
We have a number of distributed Avenue frames in our facility. They have various IP addresses all in the same subnet.
Some of the frames also have members connected via Avnet.
I'm sure in the past I was able to see all the frames (and their Avnet members) via the Avenue PC software even though they had different IPs .
Now it seems like I can only see one frame group at a time once I have entered the IP address in the Avenue PC communications menu.
I can see the Avnet members in the frame and if I enter another frames IP I can then see that frame and its members just not every frame with a different IP simultaneously.
I am using ver 2.0.11 of the software and most of the control cards are using ver 2.2.8
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Re: Avenue PC control

Hello Tim,

Make sure that each of the frames that have the IP connection have AVIP turned On.
Also make sure that each frame has an individual address.  If you still have problems
email me directly: mike@ensembledesigns.com

Re: Avenue PC control

Hi thanks Mike. All these were ok. I found that a person unknown had set the Upper Avnet address in the first frame to include all the avnet numbers in the other frames. Once I set this back to the correct value all the other frames appeared and now all ok.

Re: Avenue PC control

Hello, I have a similar issue:

I have three frames deployed with IP addresses 10.10.5.8, 10.10.7.8, 10.10.7.9.

Each frame has a single 4455 protection switch.

When trying the Avenue PC application, I find that I view either the two frames on the 10.10.7.0 subnet, or the single frame on the 10.10.5.0 subnet, but not both simultaneously.

I have verified that each frame has AViP on and that the address field for each os nonoverlapping (eg 1-2, 3-4, 5-6 resp.)

To switch between views, I edit the IP address and then refresh network frames and the proper view comes up.

MI can live with using this method to switch between views, my question is: will the email function (where an email is ent out for hihg/low alarms) work for all the frames, or only those displayed at the time?  In other words if I am viewing the two frames on 10.10.7.0 and I get an alarm on the frame at 10.10.5.8, will I get an email?

Kind regards,

Hank Rausch

Re: Avenue PC control

Hello Hank,

AvenuePC can only alarm on frames that are currently communicating with the application.  I would suggest that you
bring the other frame, IP 10.10.5.8, into the same subnet as the other two frames by changing the address to
10.10.7.X, this way all frames will show up in AvenuePC and will be able to alarm if a failure occurs.

Best regards,
